Promoting innovative policy and practice in non-profit and voluntary organizations is what drives our work. Organizations want their programs and services to be delivered effectively and to be able to demonstrate the impact of their work to their constituents, boards, members, donors, funders, and the public at large. Senior staff and volunteers are challenged to work more collaboratively—in partnerships, alliances, and networks—to explore new governance models, to leverage their strengths and assets, to engage volunteers differently, and to form new relationships with business and governments.

Our work in this area is focused on developing practical resources and tools and by organizing workshops and round tables, and by providing consulting services. This work is organized in four themes: evaluation, governance, public policy, and volunteering.
