Master’s students affiliated with Arthur Kroeger College in the Clayton H. Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management spend much of their time studying effective policy advocacy as well as strategic communications, polling and political campaigns. Nineteen MPM students attended the Canada 2020 Conference on 2-3 October and met with political leaders such as Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne as well as pollsters and political journalists. Canada 2020 is a non-partisan think tank. As Kroeger Professor Jennifer Robson notes, “This is an opportunity for students to hear from a mix of people working as political managers in NGOs, the government, and the private sector.” She adds that the conference aims to facilitate dialogue across party lines, to engage people politically in an informed and civil way, and that is also the mission of the Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management.
