On August 25 ITS will be retiring the CU-Internet service due to the lack of encryption and security in this method.
To encourage people to start using CU-Wireless or Eduroam, beginning July 14:
- CU-Internet session will be limited to 30 minutes
- A new service called XpressConnect will be introduced to help people configure CU-Wireless
- A new help service will be broadcast everywhere on campus where there is wireless service
After August 25th, ONLY MyCarletonOne accounts will be accepted for all wireless services. Connect accounts will no longer be accepted.
The retirement of CU-Internet will have no impact on the way CU-Wireless or Eduroam operate. Private networks will also not be impacted by this retirement.
Please note that WPA or WPA2 compliant devices are required for CU-Wireless & Eduroam, which was not required for CU-Internet.
