Kristin Connor’s research aims to understand how early life environments are predictive of later life outcomes, and identify the processes underlying poor growth and development in early life and metabolic dysfunction and disease across the lifecourse. She uses a systems biology approach to go beyond studying gene-environment interactions, to understand how early life nutrition and maternal metabolic health reset physiologic systems (particularly immune, metabolic and stress pathways) through interactions with host genetics and microbial partners. She maintains collaborative relationships with researchers at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada, the Liggins Institute in Auckland, New Zealand, and Faculté de Médecine Paris Descartes, Hôpital Universitaire Necker Enfants Malades in Paris, France.
