Policing (in)security will explore contemporary issues related to how policing is impacted by the politics of security, national security, terrorism, and global insecurities. It will explore recent transformations to Canadian policing practices, as well as global trends. Themes will include counter-terrorism, radicalization, the extension of counter-terrorism surveillance to protest movements, and the powers of national security agencies. We will also discuss trends in global security governance, transnational policing networks, and the impact of security-issues on development practices in the global South.
