q8-qmecq_400x400As a Carleton student, you get FREE access to Canada’s largest independent literary celebration, the Ottawa International Writers Festival.

From politics to poetry, science to music, history to thrillers, the festival celebrates the full diversity of the word and the gifted writers who guide us in our exploration of the world.

This year’s festival features many internationally acclaimed authors, including Margaret Atwood, Emma Donoghue, David Mitchell, and former English Department writer-in-residence Ivan Coyote. In/Words, our in-house literary magazine and press, is launching its first themed issue, Refuge(e), on Friday, October 21 at 6:30pm. You can find a complete schedule of events here.

For more information about the festival, please visit their website.
