Come hear Max and Amal read from their fantastical epistolary Spy vs. Spy novella across time and space.
Amal El-Mohtar is an award-winning writer of prose, poetry, and criticism. She is the author of The Honey Month, and her stories and poems have appeared in such magazines as Tor.com, Lightspeed, Uncanny, Strange Horizons, Apex, Stone Telling, and Mythic Delirium, and in anthologies including The Djinn Falls in Love & Other Stories, The Starlit Wood: New Fairy Tales, Kaleidoscope: Diverse YA Science Fiction and Fantasy Stories, and The Thackery T. Lambshead Cabinet of Curiosities. Her articles and reviews have been published in the LA Times, NPR Books and on Tor.com.
Max Gladstone has wrecked a bicycle in Angkor Wat, sung at Carnegie Hall, and been thrown from a horse in Mongolia. In July 2016 Tor Books published his most recent novel, Four Roads Cross, a tale of sovereign debt and dead gods. It is the fifth Craft Sequence novel, preceded by Three Parts Dead, Two Serpents Rise, Full Fathom Five, and Last First Snow. His most recent project is the globetrotting urban fantasy serial Bookburners. Max is a two-time finalist for the John W. Campbell Best New Writer Award, and a one-time finalist for the XYZZY and Lambda Awards.
