EURUS director Achim Hurrelmann contributed two recent op-eds to The Globe and Mail commenting on the negotiations about a Eurozone bailout for Greece. The first piece, “Greece stumbling toward default: A game of chicken gone wrong” (online June 29, print June 30), discusses the decision by the Greek government to hold a referendum on the austerity measures demanded by the Eurozone creditors.

The second article, “A deal for Greece is struck, but the damage is done” (online July 13, print July 14), comments on the agreement eventually reached between Greece and the Eurozone. Professor Hurrelmann also gave interviews in the Greek debt crisis to CBC radio stations in Ottawa, Kitchener, Sudbury, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Kelowna, and Vancouver.
