This area is accountable for the management of the Facilities Maintenance Contract for eighteen buildings on campus, and for the custodial services, waste and recycling removal, pest control and window cleaning contracts for all buildings on campus as well as loading dock cleaning at two campus locations.
The Facilities Maintenance contract incorporates all areas of building maintenance and cleaning with the exception of building automation, high pressure steam and some locksmith duties. This contract includes the following facilities: HHJ Nesbitt Building, David Azrieli Theatre and Pavilion, Visualization and Simulation Building, Human Computer Interaction Building, Canal Building, River Building, Athletics Complex, Ice House, National Wildlife Research Centre, Carleton Technology & Training Centre, Leeds Residence, Prescott House, Frontenac House and Lennox & Addington House.
The Custodial Services contract includes all the cleaning services for 297,300 square meters of building space on campus. This work is carried out using both in-house and contracted custodians.
The Waste Management contract handles the removal of 907,000 kilograms of waste and 680,000 kilograms of recycling materials from campus on an annual basis.
