Since 1992, the Faculty of Public Affairs has hosted The Dick, Ruth, and Judy Bell Lecture, which honours the contributions of individuals to the political and public life of Canada.

And at each lecture, Dr. Ruth Bell would be sitting in the front row, listening intently.

Dr. Bell was a great supporter of the Faculty of Public Affairs and its mission to improve governance and public policy, build better societies and foster informed citizenship.

“Ruth Bell loved Carleton. She was never happier among us than when surrounded by students, engaging them in conversation about their future.” said Dean André Plourde of the Faculty of Public Affairs. “We in the Faculty of Public Affairs mourn her passing and celebrate her life and her commitment to our Faculty.”
