CU75 POPS: Water is a student-led “team” challenge designed to reward innovation and creativity and get students thinking about pathways to effect change in their community. The project was introduced in honour of Carleton’s 75th Anniversary.

We are thrilled to announce that more than 20 teams consisting of more than 80 undergraduate and graduate students have signed up for the challenge! Students on these teams come from across the University including:

  • Faculty of Science (Biology, Computer Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Health Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Neuroscience, Physics)

These teams are now hard at work on the completion of Phase One in which they must submit a policy proposal. Teams selected to advance to Phase Two of the Challenge will be announced by January 15, 2017. These teams will present 20 minute presentations at the final event on March 22nd. The top prize in both the undergraduate and graduate contests is $7500.

Thank you to our partners: Environment and Climate Change Canada, the City of Ottawa, Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Design, and the Faculty of Science.
