Minister of Foreign Affairs Stéphane Dion will give the keynote address at a Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Founding of the Arctic Council on September 29th.
The event will be held in the River Building Atrium and will feature panel discussions on the origin and accomplishments of the Arctic Council, which was established after the signing of the Ottawa Declaration on September 19, 1996.
Minister Dion’s keynote address on Canada’s international Arctic policies will begin at 8:30 am sharp.

The event is being organized by Global Affairs Canada in partnership with the Arctic program of the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and the Faculty of Public Affairs of Carleton University.

WHEN: Thursday, 29 September 2016. Registration at 7:30 AM and program starts at 8:00 am.

WHERE: River Building Atrium, 2nd floor, Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, Ontario.

A new CIGI publication, North of 60: Toward a renewed Canadian Arctic Agenda, a collection of short essays by a dozen Canadian Arctic experts, will be launched at the meeting.
