Volunteering is one of the best ways to meet new people and make a difference in your community. Carleton offers several programs that can connect you with volunteer opportunities both here and abroad.

Carleton’s Volunteer Bureau gives students the opportunity to find volunteer positions that will allow students to continue their learning experience outside of our campus and gain skills and knowledge that can complement their academic learning.

Community Service-Learning (CSL) is a method of experiential, hands-on learning that emphasizes action, reflection and real-world engagement. Much more than just volunteerism, CSL supports students in the development of new skills and civic citizenship through combining community work and classroom learning. Some of the CSL programs offered at Carleton include:

Alternative Spring Break: Alternative Spring Break is an extraordinary service-learning initiative which connects students to national and international partners, enabling them to engage in meaningful community service and critical reflection.

Days of Service are one-day volunteer sessions for Carleton students to get involved. Days of Service are for students who are just starting out, students who are unable to commit to regular service, and anybody looking for new experiences and the opportunity to work with community organizations.
