When Ikenchukwu first came from Nigeria, he found it hard to adjust to life at a Canadian university.

“I struggled being alone so far from home in the beginning,” said Ikenchukwu. “But my family kept pushing me—even from across the world.”

In fact, his family is so proud, they travelled all the way from Nigeria and England to see Ikenchukwu honoured at the Dean’s Honour List reception.

“Ikenchukwu is very courageous because he struggled at first, but then he bounced back and has done really well,” said his sister, Nneka. “We are really proud of him.”
