With the integration of the new and quite visual templates to our departmental websites, the need of images is imperative. On our websites we have news posts, stories, research and a variety of content that needs to be engaging and fresh. There are many sources for images online, and it is very easy to assume that if we can download, we can reuse. This is not necessarily correct all the times, and it is better to assume that if it doesn’t explicitly say that it is a copyright free image, it is better to look for a different source.

Copyright means the right to produce or reproduce work or a part of it. This not only applies to images, but it does also to music and other forms of expressions of communication and art.
