Cathrine is a 2nd year Ph.D. student. Her research interests include scale validation, the relevance of empathy (if any) to violent and sexually aggressive behaviour, and treatment change among sexual offenders. She is currently conducting a meta-analysis to examine the discriminative validity of self-report measures of empathy, and using exploratory statistical methods such as exploratory factor analysis and multidimensional scaling to examine the relationships between measures of empathy and cognitive distortions, and examine “own-victim” empathy among community men. Her other projects include two manuscripts, “Explicit, Implicit, and Discrepant Self-Esteem, Narcissism, Psychopathy Among Sexual Offenders Against Children”, and “The Latent Factor Structure of the Aggression Questionnaire with Serious Violent Offenders”.
