Victoria Dark 3rd Year Environmental Studies Undergraduate Student
Victoria Dark is a 3rd year undergraduate student in Environmental Studies at Carleton University. She is currently a member of the Youth Engagement Team for Parks Canada at their national office in Gatineau. Her role in the Youth Engagement Team is to create and facilitate special events, such as “Parks Day 2016” and “Urban Campfire” to encourage millennials to travel to visit Canada’s national parks with a concentration on Canada’s conservation and sustainability efforts.
In Victoria’s own words, “I love working for Parks because it gives me a chance to show young Canadians the importance of creating conservation areas in order to protect our beautiful landscapes. We are the future and I believe it is our job to be the stewards of our land and to ensure its future as much as our own. This job gives me an opportunity to voice that and I couldn’t be happier”.
