A super way to maximize your charitable giving!

If you’ve never given to a charity before, now’s the time. In its 2013 budget, the federal government established the First Time Donor’s Super Credit to encourage Canadians to make their first gifts to charity. You can claim the Super Credit and get more money back on your annual tax return.

Make a first gift of up to $1,000 to any registered charity. All charitable gifts are eligible for tax credits, so you’ll receive some of it back on your tax return. But with the Super Credit, you’ll get 25 per cent more in tax credits. On a gift of $1,000, that’s $250 back in your pocket.
