immunizationAll Carleton students should ensure their immunizations are up-to-date before beginning university. Ask your parents for your yellow record card you probably had as a child. Make a copy and bring it with you when you come to university.

Obtain documentation of vaccinations for MMR – red measles, German measles (rubella) and mumps, and for diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus from your family physician. A booster dose of the MMR vaccine is recommended if you have not been re-immunized since infancy. Also discuss Hepatitis B, meningococcal, Varicella (chicken pox), and HPV vaccines with your family physician.

You are welcome to come to Health and Counselling Services (HCS) to discuss any vaccines you might have questions about.

Carleton University students, faculty and staff may book an appointment with the Pharmacist of the Prescription Shop, 1100 Carleton Technology & Training Centre to determine the necessary vaccines. To find out the fees for this service, you may call them at (613) 526-3666.

Once the Pharmacist has given you the vaccine, you may bring it to Health and Counselling Services (HCS) where a nurse will administer the shots. No appointment is necessary, but there will be a charge for this service.
