We are pleased to announce that Olivia Podlesny has successfully defended and filed her MCogSc!

Her thesis, Investigating disjunction in American Sign Language: The importance of non-manual signals and the influence of English, is a valuable addition to the literature. It provides new experimental data, as well as historical and formal analyses, to yield new insights into ASL and its place in linguistic typology.

The committee was made up of Dr. Raj Singh (Supervisor), Dr. Chris Herdman (Committee Member), Dr. Melissa Frankel (Internal/External), and Dr. Ida Toivonen (Chair).

On behalf of the committee and ICS, congratulations, Olivia!
