On behalf of the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa, I would like to invite you to attend our next colloquium to be held on Tuesday, September 29th, 2015, at 2:30pm in room FSS-4004. Our speaker, Dr. Richard M. Shiffrin, from Indiana University, will give an exciting talk entitled “How visual search and attention unfold over time”. I hope that his talk will be of great interest to you.

Dr. Shiffrin has contributed a number of theories in the fields of attention and long-term memory. He co-authored the Atkinson–Shiffrin model of memory in 1968; he published a theory of attention with Walter Schneider in 1977; he also developed SAM (Search of Associative Memory) and REM (Retrieving Efficiently from Memory) in the eighties and nineties.
