Friday March 24 and Saturday March 25: Off the Record: an interdisciplinary conference, co-presented by the Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture and the Art History Graduate Students’ Society (AHGSS)
Panels and keynote lecture will take place in Dunton Tower 2017.

Off the Record is an interdisciplinary conference that seeks to raise questions concerning the flattening of historical narratives surrounding nation-building practices. The conference presents research papers by graduate students at the MA and PhD levels, as well as from emerging and independent scholars. Themes that will be explored include material culture and the archive; migration and diasporic communities; Indigenous politics, identity and resurgence; decolonial/anti-colonial methodologies and globalisms; urban planning; the built environment and the politics of space; heritage conservation and public history; minor transnationalisms and cultural transfers.

A finalized program is forthcoming.

Keynote speaker: Dr. Monika Kin Gagnon (Communications Studies, Concordia University).
