The Canada-India Centre has partnered with Mitacs to support student mobility between Canadian universities and Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT).
The Mitacs Globalink Research Award – MHRD India is an exciting competitive initiative that provides the opportunity for faculty members and senior undergraduate and graduate students at Canadian universities to build an international research network and undertake research abroad at seven IITs in India including:
- IIT Bombay
- IIT Guwahati
- IIT Hyderbad
- IIT Kanpur
- IIT Kharagpur
- IIT Gandhinagar
- IIT Roorkee
The call for applications will close on March 4, 2016, at 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST). This is a competitive call and a limited number of awards are available. Successful applicants can begin their research project as early as May 2016 and as late as December 31, 2016.
Mitacs will provide a $5,000 research award to the Canadian supervisor to support student travel expenses, research-related expenses, and student stipend. MHRD will provide a local grant equivalent to $5,000 to cover accommodation, research, and local expenses associate with the research project. To contact the Canada-India Centre, please click here .
