Ottawa Walking Tours is looking to hire guides for the 2016 spring and summer season. Please see the Owner’s message below!
Hello! My name is Craig MacDonald, and I am the Owner and Tour Director of Ottawa Walking Tours. Ottawa Walking Tours offers two-hour guided historical walks through Ottawa’s downtown core, with special stops at important buildings and areas of interest within the city centre. Ottawa Walking Tours is dedicated to letting our professional, multilingual guides, acquaint visitors with the history and charm of our beautiful city.
We are looking to hire guides for the 2016 spring and summer season. In order to expand our business in the Portuguese, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish speaking tourist markets, we will be hiring native speakers of these languages. Applicants should be interested in history and enjoy working with school groups and other visitors from across Canada and around the world.
Successful candidates will possess:
- An interest in local and Canadian history.
- Oral fluency in English and/or French (Additional language skills are considered an asset).
- A mature, professional attitude and appearance.
- An abundance of diplomacy and tact.
- A positive, cheerful and optimistic disposition.
- An ability to work a flexible schedule
- Excellent time management and organizational skills., including juggling competing priorities, and undertake long term planning.
- An entrepreneurial spirit.
Tourism or guide experience will be considered strong assets.
