Information for Applicants

Beginning in 2010, Developing Future Leaders (DFL) is a program run by the Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies that funds internship placements working for Partner Agencies in the Jewish Community. The program is funded by private donation to the Zelikovitz Centre, and is a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Ottawa. There is no academic credit given for this program. Since its inception, the DFL Program has experienced tremendous success.

The DFL Program prioritizes the selection of interns with established leadership skills, while focusing its energy on finding agreeable placements with partner agencies and continued leadership training throughout the school year.

The Program is also emphasizing creativity and flexibility in placements. Thus, in order to provide a suitable internship experience over the full academic year, interns may be in more than one placement or agency during the academic year. Placements will be arranged according to what is best suited to the skills that the student would like to develop and according to the availability of suitable placements with partner agencies.
