Read. Interact. Listen. Watch.

They aren’t simply students working on class assignments, they are professionals producing journalism – top quality work we’re proud to publish throughout the term.

Community-based digital stories, long-form video pieces, radio current affairs – they do it all, and they do it well.

Capital Current

Capital Current engages Ottawa’s communities, telling stories and sparking conversations about issues and ideas that matter to them. Featuring work by our journalists of tomorrow, it serves, beyond its journalistic function as a local news and information resource, as a training ground for third- and fourth-year students, as well as graduate students.

25th Hour

Who among us hasn’t wished for more time in a day? If you had one extra hour, what would you do with it? In our 25th Hour, a hands-on weekly workshop, we cultivate the power and beauty of longer-form visual storytelling in a student-produced video magazine that takes the time to tackle community stories that often get neglected.

Midweek

Midweek

Midweek is an eclectic weekly current affairs radio show produced by senior BJ and MJ students, broadcast live on CKCU-FM. Team members present interviews, documentaries, soundscapes and other innovative audio forms that use sounds and voices to take listeners into a story and the lives of those involved in it.

Catalyst

From neurons to neutrinos, you’ll find fascinating science and medical health stories in Catalyst. This online publication of the fourth-year science journalism seminar showcases articles about scientific topics produced by the students throughout the winter semester. The focus is on relevant, new research, often with a local twist and multimedia appeal.
