CKCU Literary News of CKCU-FM 93.1 radio, which is the campus-based community station of CARLETON UNIVERSITY (Ottawa), broadcasting in English, French, German, and partly in Spanish (bilingual EN / ES) about contemporary literature in Europe, in French-speaking countries and in Latin America. The broadcast can be heard LIVE, and on STREAM, Wednesdays, 9:30-10:00 a.m. EST (Canada) /15:30-16:00 (Europe), as well as via  ALL PLAYLISTS and as PODCAST> Podcast-1 (in English), Podcast-2 (en français), et Podcast-3 (auf Deutsch).

CKCU Literary News im Campusradio CKCU-FM 93,1 der CARLETON UNIVERSITY in Ottawa (Canada) produziert und sendet drei Programme : ‘Literatures in Europe Today’, ‘Les Actualités littéraires dans le monde francophones’ und ‘Das literarische Echo. Deutschsprachige Literatur im Gespräch, Kritiken und Kontroversen’.

Die Sendungen sind mittwochs von 9.30-10.00 Uhr EST in Ottawa auf 93,1 MHz (FM) und von 15.30-16.00 Uhr MEZ in Europa (und weltweit) im LIVE STREAM zu empfangen. Sie werden auch auf der Abspielliste CKCU Literary News PLAYLIST und als  Podcast-1 (in English), Podcast-2 (en français), und Podcast-3 (auf Deutsch ) zum Nachhören angeboten.

Launched in 1975 as the first campus radio in Canada, CKCU-FM 93.1 is not only an integral part of Carleton University, but “Mighty 93.1” as the station is frequently being called, is also one of Ottawa’s well-established community radio station broadcasting seven days a week around the clock in over ten languages. Transmitting its programs to an audience within a 100 km radius, that is the National Capital Region and beyond, it is also streaming live worldwide on the internet.

In 2010, on the occasion of its 35th anniversary, CKCU-FM 93.1 launched the internet-based broadcasting service CKCU Literary News which is currently producing  three programs:

  • CKCU LitNews-1 Literatures in Europe Today, produced and hosted by Hans G. Ruprecht;
  • CKCU LitNews-2 Les Actualités littéraires dans le monde francophone, produced and hosted by Hans G. Ruprecht; including Paroles d’Afrique entretiens, reportages et poésie, hosted by Antoine Houlou-Garcia in Paris.
  • CKCU LitNews-4 Noticias literarias de Latinoamérica / Latin American literary news, con el Dr. Alberto Quero (Venezuela).

These programs can be heard alternately every Wednesday, 9:30-10:00 a.m. EST (Canada) , locally on FM 93.1, and worldwide on LIVE STREAMING.

Shortly after shows have been aired, episodes of CKCU LitNews-1-5 are posted on PLAYLIST, earlier ones have been posted for free downloading, as  MP3-audio files, as Podcast-1 ,Podcast-2 and Podcast-3;  the audio files of CKCU LitNews-3 are also being saved for easy downloading in the archive of  Das literarische Echo at www3.carleton.ca/litecho/archiv.html
