    Biography

    Research Interests

    • Processing (powder metallurgy, casting, brazing, and heat treatment) and properties of gas turbine materials (titanium aluminides, superalloys)
    • corrosion of materials in supercritical carbon dioxide
    • supercritical carbon dioxide Brayton cycle development

     

    Application

    Development of lightweight materials for aircraft gas turbine blade applications, leading to improved efficiency and power output.  Material compatibility for supercritical carbon dioxide gas turbines used for high efficiency power generation.
