LOOKING FORWARD: MIGRATION AND MOBILITY IN 2017 AND BEYOND

The National Metropolis Conference is an annual forum for researchers, policy makers, representatives from community and settlement organizations to get together to share and exchange knowledge and experience in the field of immigration and settlement.

The 2017 National Metropolis Conference will focus on future immigration trends and policies and the challenges and opportunities that they create for Canadian society. The conference will include plenary panels with distinguished speakers and workshop and roundtable sessions on a wide variety of topics related to immigration and diversity.

ALLER DE L’AVANT: MIGRATION ET MOBILITÉ AU-DELÀ DE 2017

Le Congrès national Metropolis 2017 sera axé sur les politiques et les tendances futures en immigration, ainsi que sur les défis et les opportunités que celles-ci engendrent pour la société canadienne. Le congrès va être composé de quatre séances plénières auxquelles sont invités d’éminents conférenciers, et d’ateliers et de tables rondes qui vont toucher à une grande variété de sujets liés à l’immigration et à la diversité. Nous prévoyons accueillir plusieurs centaines de participants provenant du Canada et de l’étranger.

Hon. John McCallum, federal Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, Kathleen Weil, Quebec Minister of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion and Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre will be opening the 19th edition of the National Metropolis conference. This three day conference will feature three plenaries and some 150 workshops and round tables on the latest research on immigration, settlement and integration. A preliminary draft program can be viewed here: Metropolis 2017_programme.
