FYC Peer Mentor

The First Year Connections (FYC) Peer Mentor Position is a part-time paid position for September and October, with training occurring during Summer 2024. Peer Mentors play a vital role in supporting first year students during their transition to university. Each peer mentor will be assigned roughly 5 mentees whom they are required to meet with weekly for the first six weeks of the academic year. Each week, Peer Mentors facilitate guided conversations that cover key themes and subjects that will support their mentees as they continue to navigate their transition to university.

FYC Senior Mentor

The First Year Connections (FYC) Senior Peer Mentor Position is a part-time paid position for September and October, with training occurring during Summer 2024. Each Senior Peer Mentor will be assigned roughly 5 mentees whom they are required to meet with weekly for the first six weeks of the academic year. Each week, Senior Peer Mentors facilitate guided conversations that cover key themes and subjects that will support their mentees as they continue to navigate their transition to university. Additionally, Senior Peer Mentors will provide support and guidance to a team of Peer Mentors. Please note – only previous FYC Mentors are able to apply for the Senior Mentor position.

Application Process

Please note that applications for the FYC Peer Mentor position are still open until April 4th 2024. Please reserve March 23rd for senior mentor interviews and April 6th for mentor interviews. Please note, senior mentors that are hired are expected to support mentor interviews.
