• A Special Parking Permit (SPP) will be made available for purchase to any staff/student applicant who presents an Accessible Parking Permit (APP) issued in the applicant’s name. This will be the main avenue to obtain a SPP from Parking Services.
  • Upon referral from Equity Services, Human Resources, or the Paul Menton Centre (PMC), Parking Services will grant a grace period of one academic term – up to four (4) months to allow the staff/student applicant time to complete the necessary documentation with their physician to apply for/obtain an MTO APP. During this time period, staff/student applicants will be issued with a temporary Special Permit that will expire at the end of the four (4) month period. Extensions beyond this period will not be granted.
  • In cases where there is an obvious physical limitation/restriction, (i.e.: broken leg, late pregnancy, etc.), and the staff/student applicant attends Parking Services, a SPP may be issued for up to three (3) months without presentation of an APP. Extensions beyond this period will not be granted without medical documentation or an APP.
  • In cases where staff/students do not qualify for an APP permit, but do have functional limitations (i.e.: phobias, psychological disorders/impairments, etc.) and may require special parking arrangements, Equity Services, Human Resources, or PMC may forward a request to Parking Services for SPP accommodation. Staff/students must provide supporting medical documentation to demonstrate the requirement for any such request.
