Her journalism career has taken her from audio booths to TV studios in her various roles over the years—host, reporter, producer and researcher.
But it’s safe to say that one of Kathryn O’Hara’s favourite places became Carleton’s Midweek newsroom, where she guided countless journalism students as they put their live weekly current affairs show on the air.
The journalism professor and broadcast veteran recently taught her last Midweek class since joining the School 15 years ago. And to mark the occasion, O’Hara’s students turned the microphone on her. Here are some of her thoughts about journalism—the practice, the pedagogy, the future.
