Veronica Postolski

MA Student

Biography

Veronica Postolski is a second year MA student with an interest in do it yourself biology and its impact on the healthcare system. DIY biologists (or biohackers) usually work in community labs where they experiment with genetic information under the supervision of mentors with doctoral level expertise.  The social movement inspired by biohacking has attempted to “free our genetic data”, taking it out of the hands of doctors and scientists and back into the hands of regular individuals. Currently, Veronica is working on an MRP surrounding the construction of biohacker identity in juxtaposition to biopower and biopolitics.
