Congratulations go out today to Dr. Marie-Odile Junker on receiving a SSHRC Insight Grant of $500,000 for her project “A Digital Infrastructure to Sustain Algonquian Languages: Dictionaries and Linguistic Atlas”.
$500,000 is a significant funding commitment, in fact the maximum possible for this award, and reflects strong support for this large-scale and ambitious project involving a number of partners from indigenous groups and universities across Canada as well as one in the United States.
News of the grant follows on the heels of a similar release in April which announced receipt of a $200,000 SSHRC Partnership Development Grant for her project entitled “Dictionnaire Atikamekw.”
