TSTC staff discussing machinery - about ushe Science Technology Centre (STC), located at Carleton University, is a research, prototyping, manufacturing and service department. Being centrally located between downtown and the airport makes the Centre easily accessible to local businesses and visiting clients.

Established in 1957 as a small workshop in the Physics Department, STC has developed an international reputation for manufacturing instrumentation for several High Energy Physics (HEP) research institutes such as CERN, SLAC, DESY and FERMI. Recently we manufactured components for SNO, ATLAS/FCAL and TRIUMF.

Now in its seventh decade of operation, STC has developed into a specialized manufacturing facility with highly skilled technicians, instrumentation specialists and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programmers. In addition to large components manufactured for the HEP area, we also fabricate small intricate components such as artificial heart components, artificial wrist joints and spinal implants for medical research.
