National Engineering Month
Saturday, March 2nd | 9am-12pm | Carleton University | Grades 9-12
National Engineering Month is Canada’s largest celebration of engineering and engineers work and role in society. This event will give youth the opportunity to participate in hands-on engineering activities and learn about the exciting world of engineering through a keynote address from an industry professional and by speaking with current Carleton engineering students.
International Women’s Day
Friday, March 8th | 5pm-8pm | Carleton University | Girls* in Grades 6-9
Celebrate the remarkable contributions of women in STEM fields! Enjoy a pizza dinner, hear from an exciting keynote speaker sharing her journey in STEM, and dive into a hands-on engineering activity that promises to spark curiosity and creativity. It’s an evening of empowerment, learning, and fun as we celebrate the brilliance of women in STEM and ignite the passion for future innovators!
Black Youth in STEM
Saturday, March 23rd | 9am-12pm | Carleton University | Grades 8-12
The Virtual Ventures Team is so excited to be expanding our Black Youth in STEM program! This event is an exciting collaboration between Virtual Ventures and the Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub. Engage with a dynamic keynote speaker, a panel of current Carleton students sharing their post-secondary journey and complete an exciting Build and Pitch activity. Engage your creativity as you tackle real-world issues, brainstorm innovative solutions, and bring your ideas to life through prototyping. Finally, pitch your groundbreaking solutions to a panel of student judges.
