Our focus is on communities in the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority (SLFNHA) catchment area, which includes rural and remote fly-in communities that range in population from ~50 to 2,500 people. At the outset, we are hoping to work with 3-5 diverse communities to explore the best strategies for conducting this process; we anticipate working together with an additional 5-7 communities in a 2nd phase that will allow an assessment of approaches for community-to-community sharing. We believe that the research will help us to develop wise practices for achieving change in other First Nations communities, contribute to policy recommendations that support positive change, and help communities continue to develop their own evidentiary basis to advocate for change.
