Fran\u00e7ois Brouard is a bilingual Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant with a bachelor\u2019s degree in business administration (B.A.A.) from HEC Montr\u00e9al, a master\u2019s degree in accounting (M.Sc.) from Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al (UQAM) and a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Trois-Rivi\u00e8res (UQTR). He is currently an Associate professor in the accounting group (taxation and financial accounting) at the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University and Founding Director of the Sprott Centre for Social Enterprises (SCSE). In 2012, the Ordre des comptables agr\u00e9\u00e9s du Qu\u00e9bec (OCAQ) awarded him its highest honour, the title of Fellow Chartered Accountant, followed by the title Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant. Between 2009 and 2015, he was the founding co-editor in chief of ANSERJ -Canadian journal of nonprofit and social economy research \/ Revue canadienne de recherche sur les OSBL et l\u2019\u00e9conomie sociale. He previously worked as a consultant in training and strategic scanning, a professor at Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Hull (UQAH), a project manager for the Professional Education Program of the OCAQ and a lecturer in several universities. He also worked in auditing and tax for an international CA firm (Samson B\u00e9lair \/ Deloitte & Touche).
