Duncan joined MaRS in 2015 to advise on federal and provincial policy in impact investing. He suggests solutions to regulatory barriers, develops ideas to spur market growth and evaluates social programs through a social impact bond lens. Before MaRS, he spent a year in criminal and civil cases as a clerk at the Court of Appeal for Ontario. In past positions, Duncan has advocated for more effective foreign aid at Engineers Without Borders Canada, analyzed labour markets at the Alberta Federation of Labour and connected people with low incomes to legal help at Access Pro Bono in Vancouver.
