Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and raised in northern Ontario (New Liskeard and Haileybury), Alexandra Mallett identifies as a white settler with Acadian (French), British (English, Welsh and Scottish) and Irish ancestral roots.\u00a0 She is an Associate Professor in the School of Public Policy and Administration (SPPA) at Carleton University.\u00a0 She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Toronto, a Master of Arts in International Development from Dalhousie University and a PhD in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). \u00a0Mallett has conducted extensive research around energy transitions such as governance changes and the uptake of sustainable energy technologies including smart grids and renewable energy options in Canada (e.g. Ontario, British Columbia, and Northwest Territories) and emerging economies (e.g. India, Brazil and Mexico).\u00a0 Mallett also has experience working at the University of Sussex and the University of Minnesota and government organizations including the Canadian federal government and the Organization of American States (OAS).\u00a0 She currently serves as a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) member for the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI).\u00a0 She teaches courses at the graduate level on policy analysis; sustainable energy policy; science, technology and innovation policy; and an applied research project course \u2013 alongside an instructor from engineering – for our master\u2019s program in Sustainable Energy Engineering and Policy, where she also serves as the Graduate Supervisor on the policy side for that program.\u00a0 She is married with two children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","meta":{"_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"people-type":[13],"yoast_head":"\n
