CV:View

Josh is currently completing his Ph.D. in Psychology at Carleton University. He also received his B.A. (Hons) and M.A. in Psychology from Carleton University with a concentration in Forensic Psychology. He currently works at the Sexual Misconduct Response Centre (SMRC), a branch of the Department of National Defence.

The focus of his research is on examining denial of responsibility among those with sexual offence histories. His dissertation is aimed at examining the importance of denial, the relationship between denial and other related cognitions, as well as the latent structure of the phenomenon. These interrelated aims are intended to inform the practical significance of denial (e.g., risk relevance), how denial should be conceived of (e.g., definitional boundaries of what is and is not denial), as well as guide the most accurate way to assess such behaviours. His other research interests include the assessment and prediction of sexual violence, addressing sexual misconduct within the Canadian Armed Forces, and person-centered statistical procedures.
