All Carleton University employees and volunteers, regardless of whether they have contact with the public, must complete the AODA training. The training must be completed by each individual when it is convenient for them but no later than 2 months from the date of employment. The government has authority to set monetary penalties to enforce compliance with accessibility standards. A corporation/organization that is guilty can be fined up to $100,000 per day.

Required AODA Courses

For Employees and Students

  • AODA Customer Service Standard Training (three modules). You can do all three at once – which may take at least 90 minutes to complete – or one at a time. Three modules need to be completed to record certification.
  • AODA Employment Standard Training (one module). It may take 20 minutes or longer to complete.
  • AODA Information and Communication Training (one module). It may take 20 minutes or longer to complete.

For Volunteers

  • AODA Customer Service Standard Training (three modules). You can do all three at once – which may take at least 90 minutes to complete – or one at a time. Three modules need to be completed to record certification.

How to Access the Courses

  1. Log in to Carleton Central.
  2. Click on the Employee Services tab at the top of the screen.
  3. Click on Learning and Development on the employee services menu.
  4. Click on Online Courses.
  5. Complete the Three Courses.
