SHORT BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"Dr. Mostafa El Sayed is the Director of the\u00a0Aerospace Structures and Materials Engineering Laboratory<\/a>\u00a0(ASME-Lab)<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0the department of\u00a0Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Carleton University<\/a>. He received his B.Sc. (1997) and M.Sc. (2002) from the Military Technical College, Cairo, Egypt and his Ph.D. (2010) from McGill University<\/a>, Montreal, Canada. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology<\/a>, USA. From 2011 to 2015, Dr. El Sayed was an Aircraft Loads Engineering Specialist at Bombardier Aerospace<\/a>. He was involved in Bombardier\u2019s new development programs including Airbus A220<\/a> (formerly the C-Series), Global 7000\/8000<\/a> and the Learjet<\/a>. He also participated in the Research and Development of the company\u2019s strategic technologies and future aircraft concepts. His contributions included the implementation of a wide range of dynamic loads analyses for aircraft structural design and optimization. He was also the knowledge owner of the aircraft Water Ditching and Sustained Engine Imbalance (SEI) analyses and a member of the in-service support team. \u00a0Dr. El Sayed joined Carleton University<\/a> in 2015 and currently is a tenured associate professor in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering<\/a>. Dr. Mostafa El Sayed is a certified Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario (PEO<\/a>).<\/p>\n
