its arrival at Carleton University in 1998, the Bridgman Furnace has been enhancing the study and research of <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/aerospace\/areas-of-focus\/materials-and-manufacturing\/\">aerospace materials<\/a>, allowing researchers to create techniques that improve the performance of engine elements at high temperatures and altitudes such as gas turbine engine blades.<\/p>\n<p>As airplanes and engines become increasingly powerful, testing facilities such as Carleton\u2019s Aerospace Materials Labs are making integral contributions to this field of research and to industry at
