Our research group focuses on adaptive antennas, frequency-selective structures, and active control using integrated circuits in III-Vs and Silicon.

The overall concept centers around providing reconfigurability to the antenna via 3D-printed conformal arrays, embedded ICs using additive 3D printing, 3D RF lenses, Active metamaterials with resonant structures, and Engineered substrates. Our solutions can be controlled using conventional wired DSP as well as wireless control!

This unique overlap between RF systems / Antennas / ICs is supported by state-of-the-art lab facilities that include:

1. IC probe measurements: RF prober with 50GHz PNAx and vibration-free table. Automation of measurements using MATLAB and PHYTON.

2. Over The Air (OTA) Antenna measurements.

3. High-speed measurements: These include OE and EO with optical probes, high-speed scopes, and AWGs for speeds up to 56Gbps.

4. Assembly and Packaging: Wirebonder, Cricut, SMT assembler to enable integration of fabricated ICs into the active Atennas.
