{"id":4507,"date":"2013-01-08T10:09:17","date_gmt":"2013-01-08T15:09:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/africanstudies\/?post_type=cu-events&#038;p=4507"},"modified":"2013-01-08T10:11:40","modified_gmt":"2013-01-08T15:11:40","slug":"managing-oil-revenues-amidst-decentralised-federalism-in-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"cu-events","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/africanstudies\/cu-events\/managing-oil-revenues-amidst-decentralised-federalism-in-nigeria\/","title":{"rendered":"Managing oil revenues amidst decentralised federalism in Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><br \/>\n\u201c<\/strong><strong>Managing oil revenues amidst decentralised federalism in Nigeria: a political economy perspective<\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>With<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Vanessa Ushie, Helleiner Visiting Research Fellow, North-South Institute<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vanessa Ushie <\/strong>is the Helleiner Visiting Research Fellow at the North South Institute (NSI) and former Director of Research at the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA) Abuja, Nigeria, which is currently Nigeria\u2019s leading economic policy think-tank. \u00a0Vanessa\u2019s background cuts across natural resource economics, political economy of oil, energy geopolitics, and the political economy of Nigerian and African development. \u00a0She has worked on research and consultancy projects for leading Nigerian government institutions, multilateral and donor agencies such as the World Bank, UNDP and DFID, and private sector companies. She has experience in teaching development economics, working as an economist and researcher, and providing policy advice on oil revenue management and extractive sector governance.
