Combined Honours programs in African Studies are possible in conjunction with any other discipline in the B.A.\u00a0\u00a0 (e.g. Political Science, History, Law, Music, Anthropology, English, French, Economics, Sociology, Film Studies). Students wishing to pursue a Combined Honours degree between African Studies and Journalism must already be accepted into the Journalism Honours Program.<\/p>\n<p>Students can also study Africa within the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/africanstudies\/b-g-s-program-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bachelor of Global and International Studies degree (BGInS)<\/a>. A <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/bgins\/africa-and-globalization\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Specialization in Africa and Globalization stream<\/a> also allows you to focus your studies on Africa within the BGInS degree. Undergraduate students in other programs can also take a <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/africanstudies\/minor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Minor in African Studies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A degree in African Studies prepares you for a wide range of careers in\u00a0<strong>government\u00a0<\/strong>service,\u00a0<strong>non-governmental organizations, business<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>humanitarian aid work<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>journalism<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>education<\/strong>.
