South Africa-Canada Universities Network Joint Workshop and MoU Signing<\/h2>\n

South Africa-Canada research collaboration has developed and deepened over the past three decades, contributing significantly to post-apartheid research and innovation policy development. Carleton University is the anchor institution for the recently established\u00a0South Africa-Canada Universities Network (SACUN)<\/a>, which has been working with the South African\u00a0National Research Foundation (NRF)<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC)<\/a>\u00a0through the\u00a0Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC)<\/a>\u00a0to advance a set of initiatives to strengthen research cooperation.<\/p>\n

As a next step in advancing this collaboration, on Nov. 20 the NRF and\u00a0SSHRC will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Carleton and introduce a joint call for seed funding.<\/p>\n

This event will celebrate South African and Canadian researchers and identify synergistic opportunities under the current priority themes. Please join us for this important milestone and learn more about opportunities to develop international collaborations with South African universities.
