Emma is a fourth year African Studies\/Journalism student graduating with her Bachelors of Arts (Honours) and Bachelors of Journalism next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emma was one of ten students at Carleton selected for this inaugural award which is given in recognition of outstanding undergraduate student academics in research, community engagement, immersive learning, and\/or international activities. She&nbsp;has enhanced her learning through many international activities, including an exchange to the Netherlands, a reporting trip to Macedonia, taking the <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/africanstudies\/undergraduate-studies\/ias-study-abroad-course\/past-ias-study-abroad-courses\/2014-rwanda\/\" target=\"_blank\">African Studies Abroad trip to Rwanda<\/a> with Professor Allan Thompson, and doing a placement with Farm Radio International in Burkina Faso.
