This fall, the Centre for Student Academic Support (CSAS) is launching an online version of their Generative AI and Student Learning Workshop to help students develop informed and effective approaches to using GenAI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Self-Paced Online Workshop<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Available through the CSAS Brightspace course, this asynchronous workshop introduces students to responsible GenAI use and provides practical strategies for enhancing learning, critical thinking and academic skill development. <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/csas\/online-support\/\">Self-enrol to access the workshop<\/a> (launching in September).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By completing the workshop, students will be able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Describe generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and list some of its benefits and limitations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify potential risks of using GenAI in an academic setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognize and evaluate responsible strategies for using GenAI tools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply at least one strategy for using GenAI responsibly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incorporate at least one strategy for using GenAI responsibly this term, in a course that permits GenAI use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As AI tools become increasingly more common in academic and professional settings, understanding how to use them responsibly is an essential skill for student success and academic integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Bring the Workshop to Your Classroom<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Incorporate the workshop into your course through the CSAS <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/csas\/support\/incentive-program\/\">Incentive Program<\/a> or by requesting an in-class presentation. <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/csas\/support\/csas-forms\/\">Register online<\/a> or contact <a href=\"mailto:csas@carleton.ca\">csas@carleton.ca<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Generative AI is rapidly transforming the way students learn, study and engage with course material.
